In addition to the exhibition of a selection from Charles II’s collection at The Queen’s Gallery, John Michael Wright’s life-size portrait of Charles II –  showing the monarch dressed in Parliament robes, wearing the Crown of State and holding a new Orb and Sceptre – is on display in The Palace of Holyrood House Throne Room.

Measuring 2.8m x 2.4m, the portrait has been newly installed for the period of the exhibition and can be viewed as either part of a Palace tour or with a combined ticket for both the Palace and the Queen’s Gallery

Details of opening times and prices for the various options are available on The Royal Collection Trust website
