After a horrendous run of injuries, there was some light at the end of a dark tunnel for Hearts today with the news that captain Christophe Berra has returned to training three months before he was expected to.

The Scotland defender, 33, damaged his hamstring during Hearts 1-0 over Celtic in August and wasn’t expected back until February. However, Berra has given manager Craig Levein and the Maroon Army a huge boost by returning to light training.

Berra may even feature in Hearts next home game, the Ladbrokes Premiership clash with Rangers on 2nd December.
