Showcasing the very best of Highland Perthshire’s rich larder, the festive menu from The Upstairs Restaurant at The Townhouse Aberfeldy, a charming B&B with fifteen unique bedrooms spread over three floors, is a real treat for the tastebuds!

Head Chef Lee Patrick has assembled a menu with something for everyone, whether you are looking for traditional festive dishes, such as chicken liver parfait, roast turkey with all the trimmings, and what Lee calls his Scottish Trifle with whisky jelly, or you want some of your year round favourites, made extra special with superior ingredients, and Lee’s special touch!

These dishes include the Townhouse’s very own Burrito, Four Way Fish – a dish featuring scampi, prawn skewers, battered fish and calamari – the eternally popular Townhouse burger, Butter Chicken, and a hearty braised Highland Lamb Stew.

Dessert wise, it’s Christmas, so go on, indulge with chocolate lava cake, Italian Affogato, a dish of vanilla ice cream drowned in coffee and with gingerbread syrup as an extra festive touch, the whisky trifle.  Not forgetting probably the most novel creation on the menu, The Auld Alliance, a dish of deep fried bounty bar, Buckfast ice cream, Irn Bru ice cream and a hot chocolate fudge sauce!

“We’re really pleased with our festive menu. It certainly has Lee’s very creative stamp on it,” said Townhouse owner, Blair Girvan. “You can stick with the traditional, enjoy an old favourite, or indeed break out of the mould and go for something new.  Not everyone is looking for the traditional, or might want to save their turkey feast for Christmas Day itself, so we felt we had to cover as many bases as possible.”

“This menu is running until 21 December, so is ideal for those out and about Christmas shopping in the area, maybe visiting nearby Dewars Distillery for some gifts before Christmas, or for work colleagues getting together for a lunch or dinner.”

“Whatever the occasion, come to The Upstairs Restaurant, and you’ll be assured of   great service and a warm Highland Perthshire welcome,” finished Blair.
