Open daily 10 am – 4pm (closed 25 & 26 Dec and 1 Jan)

Lucy Newton presents new work at the Scottish Ornithologists’ Club (SOC) in Aberlady. She draws her inspiration from the richness of wildlife in Scotland, aiming to share her sense of wonder at the natural world around us, including in our backyard. Lucy works primarily in watercolour, often combined with other media such as charcoal, ink or acrylic, to suit her particular subject.  She finds working from life essential to her practice and this shows in the vividness of her work.

A love of nature has been a constant in Lucy’s life. After completing a degree at Edinburgh College of Art, she spent some time working as an illustrator, for the Sunday Herald in particular.  She now works primarily as a freelance artist, based in Edinburgh, happy to combine her passion for art with her love of nature.
