Edinburgh South West had one of the highest Remain votes in the UK, and over the last few months, I have been overwhelmed with correspondence from constituents who want the opportunity to stop Brexit through a People’s Vote.
As many will know, I am a vocal supporter of the campaign for a People’s Vote and spoke at marches last year in London and Edinburgh. In January, I made a major speech at The Convention alongside other leaders of the People’s Vote campaign, proposing that it may take a cross-party temporary UK Government to end the Brexit deadlock and deliver a People’s Vote. I believe SNP MPs must be part of any such temporary Government to ensure Scotland’s interests are protected.
I will continue to hold the UK Government to account for its shambolic handling of Brexit, and to demand a People’s Vote to get us out of the mess they have created.
