Edinburgh pub the Black Rose Tavern is the overall champion in the Best Bar None awards.

The Rose Street venue also won the Innovation in Social Responsibility and Best Independent Pub categories.

Best Bar None operates in 58 towns and cities across Scotland and co-ordinator Robert Hogg said: “The extremely high calibre of entries for this year’s awards proves that Scotland’s licensed trade is playing a leading role in promoting safe and responsible drinking.”

The vision of the scheme is to include every local authority area in Scotland over the next three years. Currently it has a presence in 19.
