Former Walker Cup golfer Michael Brooks has returned to Scotland to become the PGA Professional at a Lothians golf club.
The Carluke-born golfer has a pivotal role at Pumpherston near Livingston as he will run the Pro Shop and also welcome visitors.
And his main objective is to ensure visitors and members enjoy a memorable day of golf.
Michael promises a number of new events this season for the 400-plus members and he added: “Member retention and recruitment is an area every golf club must recognise.
“With the knowledge I have gained over the years through working at a wide variety of clubs and within the PGA, I’m looking to assist the club in making Pumpherston an even more desirable club for prospective new members and adding value to the annual subscription of existing ones.”
Before he officially started, Michael, who is chairman of TGI Golf Partnership, golf’s leading retail services group, staged a ladies golf clinic.
He added: “I will have a diary of new golf events for members that will complement an already busy schedule.
“I am also thrilled to be a part of a modern, progressive golf club offering potential for growth and helping them achieve this will be hugely satisfying.”
