Several BB guns were recovered after armed police were called Hunterfield Terrace in Gorebridge, Midlothian, at 4.30pm yesterday.

Officer surrounded a block of flats for more than four hours and a 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with a communications offence.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police in Midlothian can confirm that a 16-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with a communications offence. “The incident was reported to police around 4.30pm on Tuesday. “Officers attended an address in Hunterfield Terrace, Gorebridge, and were later stood down at 8.40pm. “A number of BB guns were recovered and inquiries into this mater are ongoing. The 16-year-old will appear at court at a later date.”
