On the third anniversary of Hibs winning the Scottish Cup, Hibernian Supporters Limited have instigated a “refer a friend” incentive to encourage new members to sign up.

HSL is a group of over 2,400 ordinary Hibs supporters who care passionately about the club and want to provide more financial support.

The group were established with simple and clear objectives, to raise funds to purchase shares in Hibernian Football Club, and to hold those shares for the benefit of all supporters and the community.

They have a legally binding agreement with the club that enables them to buy shares with their funds. This agreement is open-ended, meaning it has no closing date.

Now HSL are asking every one of their existing Members/contributors find just one other fan to join and help provide additional funds for Paul Heckingbottom’s player budget.

To date they have raised almost £800,000 to help the club.

For the first 32 brand new supporters joining HSL will enter them into a simple draw (first name out of a hat).

The prize – a free Season Ticket for next year. If you already have one we can give you a £100 voucher to spend in the Hibs shop or alternatively credit your new Member Account with 1000 Francks.

For the existing Member/Donator who made that referral they too can earn a free Season Ticket or have a £100 voucher or 2000 Francks credited to their Member account if they already have a Season Ticket.

Former Hibs player Tony Higgins said: “Supporter ownership and involvement is important because football supporters are the lifeblood of the game; economically, culturally and socially. Supporters more than any other stakeholder group make lifelong commitments to their clubs and invest in them on a long term basis.

“This lifelong commitment means that supporters have an interest in a football club that is qualitatively and quantitatively different to any other group. As such their involvement in the governance of football clubs brings an important added value, namely a long term interest in its sustainability.”
