SGB Championship: Berwick Bandits 46, Sheffield Tigers 44; Eastbourne Eagles 44, Glasgow Tigers 45

Aaron Summers powered to 13 points as Berwick Bandits edged Sheffield Tigers 46-44 in the SGB Championship.

Nikolaj Busk Jacobsen was next best with ten points in the narrow win which was in doubt until the final heat.

A 5-1 for Tigers in the second last race cut the deficit to 43-41 but Summers kept his nerve to win the final race to take the win.

Best for Sheffield was Danny King with 12 points and Broc Nicol and Drew Kemp both chipped in with 11 points each.

On the South Coast, Craig Cook top scored as Glasgow Tigers claimed a Championship double over Eastbourne Eagles.

The Cumbrian claimed 11 points and Paul Starke was next best with nine points in a one-point win.
Tigers led 44-39 going into the final heat but former Glasgow rider Lewis Kerr and ex Berwick Bandits star Edward Kennett were first and second for a 5-1.

That was after Cook was excluded for touching the tapes.

Eagles closed the gap to 45-44 but it was not enough in a match delayed by a crash involving Eagles’ rider Tom Brennan. He suffered a suspected broken leg.
