Thomas Agyepong has been named in Ghana’s 29-man provisional squad for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The on-loan Manchester City winger only made one start for Hibs following his summer move and a further nine appearances from the bench.

He made his debut in Hibs defeat to Livingston then scored his only goal for the club in a 3-0 away victory over Dundee.

His speed and skilful touch earned him the respect of the Hibs’ fans but unfortunately injuries hampered his spell in Scotland.

He suffered a knee injury against St Mirren then sustained a thigh injury in his comeback match, ruling him out for several months but he returned to feature as a substitute in four of Hibs last games following the split.

Despite his lack of action, Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah included him in his plans ahead of the tournament in Egypt.

The 22-year-old will head to Dubai on June 1st and will meet Namibia and South Africa as they prepare for the competition.
