This summer, Climate Challenge Fund community organisations will host the Edinburgh Climate Festival on Saturday 6 July 2019 from 12noon-9.00pm in The Meadows.

This is a free, family event that aims to raise climate change awareness and to increase public knowledge on how to live more sustainably and ultimately to inspire and empower the public to take action on the current climate crisis. We expect upwards of 4000 people throughout the day. It is (hurrah!) a plastic free and zero waste-to-landfill event.

The Climate Festival is an incredible platform for sustainable and community groups to promote their initiatives and get more people involved in them.

Activities on the day will include eco-workshops teaching skills like personal item repair, upcycling old belongings and food growing and foraging. There will also be sustainable experiences such as a swap-shop for clothing and household items, organic and sustainable food stalls, led cycle rides, bike repairs and electric bike trials.

The event is guaranteed to be a fun-filled family day with things like speakers and local bands on stage, theatre workshops, music, outdoor yoga and much more.
