Former Hibs’ on-loan midfielder Ryan Gauld has lefts Sporting Lisbon and signed a two-year deal with fellow Portuguese outfit Farense

His contract will see him have the highest buyout clause in Farense’s history at €4million.

A club statement read: “Sporting Clube Farense announces that it has reached an agreement with Sporting Clube de Portugal for the definitive transfer of the international athlete Scot, Ryan Gauld for the next two seasons, plus one of option.

“Last season Ryan Gauld had a very positive performance during his stay at Farense.

“We also inform you that the player has the highest termination clause in the club’s history, €4M.

“We wish our new offensive midfielder the greatest personal and professional happiness.”

After initially showing promise with Hibs, he sustained a hamstring injury which effectively ended his involvement with the first team.
