Armadale will offer speedway fans something different on Friday (tapes-up 7.30pm) as emerging talent young is on show in the Caldeonian Riders’ Championship.

Several compete at National League level and others are in the junior leagues where the Armadale-based Dale Devils compete.

Two sets of brothers, Lewis and Gregor Millar plus Ace and Stene Pijper form the Devils team. Lewis and Gregor compete on Friday but the Pijpers can’t be there.

The meeting sponsors are Bert Harkins and Linlithgow Tyres and Exhausts. Harkins is a former team captain who rode for the club 50 years ago.

The event has largely been organised by Alan Budzynski, grandfather of the Millar brothers, who does a lot of work on junior speedway.

He said: “Some supporters will be seeing these lads for the first time. Although they are classed as juniors, they are coming to compete and will be trying their best to put on a good show.

Admission is ÂŁ10 for adults, seniors and students with under-16s free of charge. There are 15 500cc races and four at lower capacity.

Line-up: Lewis Millar (Dale Devils), Gregor Millar (Dale Devils), Dale Lamb (unattached), Joe Alcock (Stoke), Luke Muff (unattached), George Rothery (Glasgow), Bailey Fellows (Birmingham), Jacob Fellows (Birmingham), Elliot Kelly (Mildenhall), Josh Embleton (Newcastle), Gavin Parr (unattached), Mason Watson (Berwick).
