The 2019 Buccleuch Property Challenge raised over £12,000 for children’s charity Seamab.

The corporate adventure took place last weekend at Drumlanrig Castle on the Queensberry Estate in Dumfriesshire with 75 teams from the property industry.

This was the ultimate team-building day as well as being a test of stamina and fitness. Teams of three competed in outdoor pursuits including running, mountain biking, paddle boarding and orienteering.

The team from CDA Architects won the mixed category and the Buccleuch Belles won the new Women’s Trophy.

The charity which will benefit this year, Seamab, provides care and education for Scottish children who have experienced significant trauma in their lives meaning they need intensive and specialist support.

David Peck, Managing Director at Buccleuch Property, said:  The Buccleuch Property Challenge has become one of the highlights of the year in the property industry, seeing professionals from across the UK come together to compete against each other whilst raising a fantastic sum of money for charity. “

“We’re delighted to have raised over £12,000 for Seamab as it does a truly incredible job in providing care and education for children in Scotland who have experienced trauma and loss, enabling them to have a childhood where they feel safe, accepted and happy.”

Tamsin Ferrier, Director of Development at Seamab, said: “We’re very excited to have been selected as this year’s charity and would like to thank everyone who raised money for us.”

“Donations are essential to Seamab, they enable us to provide the extra support needed to help children recover from the trauma they have experienced. Our children deserve to have experiences and create memories just like any child. From attending Brownies to going on holiday, learning to ride a bike to meeting an author, activities that many children take for granted mean the world to our children – but we can only do this with people’s support.”
