Challenge Cup: Belfast Giants 7, Fife Flyers 2. Elite League: Dundee Stars 6, Guildford Flames 2; Nottingham Panthers 2, Glasgow Clan 4

Glasgow Clan collected their third straight win when they swept Nottingham Panthers aside 4-2 in the Lace City.

Rasmus Bjerrum, Matt Pufahl, Chad Rau and Mathieu Roy all netted in the win achieved despite scoring first after three minutes with a short-handed goal and then falling 2-1 behind 48 seconds into the middle period.

Pufahl levelled after 37 minutes and Rau and Roy scored two goals in the final five minutes to secure the win.

Captain Matt Marquardt netted a glory double as Dundee Stars thrashed Guildford Flames 6-2 on Tayside.

Kevin Dufour, the Elite League Player of the Week, Shawn Boutin, Eglis Kains and Colton Kroeker also scored for the home side.

Stars won the first session 2-1, the second 3-1 and kept their cool to win the third 1-0.

In Northern Ireland, Challenge Cup holders Belfast Giants hammered Fife Flyers 7-2, a result set-up by a 3-0 second-period.

Tim Crowder and Danick Gauthier scored Fife’s consolation goals while Jordan Smotherman netted a double for the home side.

Remember, Murrayfield Racers are at home in the Stuart Robertson Cup with a face-off of 6.00pm on Sunday.
