People’s Postcode Lottery which has its main office in Edinburgh is inviting applications from schools for up to £500 to pay for outdoor learning resources.

The idea behind the programme Learning Through Landscapes is that any subject can be taught outdoors in the school grounds. As well as the resources the school staff will get two hours of training on how to use the equipment provided. Schools will be able to choose the equipment most appropriate to them. The programme is also open to special schools and pupil referral units.

Applications to the Postcode Local Trust are open until 22 November 2019.

Laura Chow, head of charities at People’s Postcode Lottery, said: “Given that children in Britain spend an average of just 16 minutes a day exploring in parks and the countryside[1], I’m delighted that players of People’s Postcode Lottery are supporting this programme enabling children of all ages to get outside and I’d urge schools to take advantage of this opportunity and get an application in.”
