Reform Scotland is working with Sue Ryder and Marie Curie in holding an event on 10 October 2019 to discuss different ways to support carers through bereavement.

The organisers fell there has been a lot of focus on improving access to palliative care over recent years, but what happens next to the carer of someone who dies has not received the same attention.

As we will all experience bereavement at some point this is an area they would like to explore further by bringing together a range of voices to explore views on what works, what doesn’t and how Scotland can become more bereavement-friendly.

It will be an interactive event with voting by audience members, to help us further policy on bereavement support for carers, and to identify future research areas, and ultimately help people get the bereavement support they want.
