Elite League: Guildford Flames 2, Glasgow Clan 1 (after overtime); Fife Flyers 1, Belfast Giants 4; Nottingham Panthers 5, Dundee Stars 2

Glasgow Clan skidded to a 2-1 road defeat at Guildford Flames. Brett Ferguson fired the home side ahead after 18 minutes on the power play but Matthew Heywood levelled after 39 minutes.

Calle Ackered broke Clan hearts with the game-winner after 3min 27sec of sudden death overtime.

Dundee Stars lost 5-2 at Nottingham Panthers despite being level at 1-1 after 21 minutes.

Brett Bulmer opened the scoring after four minutes but Justin Maylan levelled just after the first break.

Samuel Herr slotted the home side’s second after 28 minutes but Anthony Beauregard levelled for a second time after 47 mnutes.

But Panthers then hit three goals in 11 minutes, two from Jacob Hansen and an empty net counter from Brett Perlini less than two minutes from time after Stars withdrew their netminder to have six skaters.

And misfiring Fife also went down 4-1 to Belfast Giants in a televised game at The Fife Ice Arena.

Kevin Raine opened the scoring after 16 minutes for Giants and Liam Reddox made it 2-0 after 33 minutes.

Danick Gauthier opened Fife’s account with a slap shot on a five-on-three power play after 32 minutes.

But Matt Pelech after 56 minutes and Bobby Farnham on an empty net nine seconds from time wrapped up the points.
