Murrayfield Racers let slip a goal six seconds from time at Dumfries to end up on the wrong side of a 5-4 defeat at Solway Sharks.

Racers entertain Billingham Stars on Sunday (face-off 6pm) in the NIHL North Cup looking for a tonic.

Elsewhere, ex-Fife Flyers star Evan Bloodoff helped Coventry Blaze heap the agony on lowly Dundee Stars.

He opened the scoring for Coventry with a power play goal after seven minutes but Kevin Dufour levelled for Dundee after 29 minutes.

Alex Forbes netted with a short-handed goal after 48 minutes with one of his team-mates under penalty to hand Blaze the points.

At Kirkcaldy, inconsistent Fife Flyers were 2-0 behind to Guildford Flames after goals from Corbin Baldwin after four minutes and Ian Watters on the power play after 22.

Former Edinburgh Capitals star Mike Cazzola (pictured) pulled one back in the 45th minute and Sam Jones levelled nine minutes later.

Ben Jones slotted the game-winner in sudden-death overtime 1min 37sec into the extra session.
