Edinburgh University are a point behind Western Wildcats as the sides prepare for their men’s Premiership clash at Peffermill on Saturday (14.30).

Western have taken over at the top of the ten-strong table with ten points from four outings and the students coach Graham Moodie said his men will have to be at their best to earn a result.

Grange are in second position with nine points from one less fixture and they host newly-promoted Dundee Wanderers at Fettes College (11.00).

Wanderers have one point from their four starts and are in second-bottom spot.

Elsewhere, bottom club Kelburne entertain Watsonians at Glasgow’s National Hockey Centre (13.30) with the Edinburgh club anxious for points after their disappointing 4-3 reverse at home to then bottom club Hillhead last Saturday.

Former pace-setters Grove Menzieshill host Clydesdale (DISC, 14.30) and Hillhead are at home to Uddingston (Old Anniesland, 15.00)
