Gillian Parkhouse, the principal actress of its last two King’s pantos, now the most successful pantomime in Scotland, is back this year to play Goldilocks in Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Gillian, who has just completed the run of Still Game Live: The Final Farewell at the SSE Hydro and can currently be seen on the big screen in Judy, the biopic of Judy Garland’s 1968 London shows, says she is thrilled to be returning to the King’s stage.

Returning for the third year running, the actor, comedian and dancer from Alloa joked, ‘Andy, Allan and Grant begged me to come back this year … and I couldn’t say no to Andy!’

Gillian joins the long-standing star trio of the King’s panto – Allan Stewart (playing Dame), Andy Gray (playing the Ringmaster) and Grant Stott (playing Baron Von Vinklebottom) – and ‘newbie’ Jordan Young (playing Joey the Clown), who is joining the King’s Edinburgh cast after 12 years in pantomime at His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen.

Joining this impressive line-up is the equally impressive Tron panto theatre star Darren Brownlie as Baby Bear, Clare Gray (star of comedy group Witsherface and ‘Evil Sister’ in the King’s 2017/18 panto Cinderella) as Mummy Bear and Ross Finnie (Cats, Rocket Man) as Daddy Bear.

Tickets can be booked on 0131 529 6000, 0131 529 6005 (Groups of 8+) or online at www.capitaltheatres.com
