Cramond care home and local school children team up for charity Christmas card

Cramond Residence has joined with pupils at a local school to design and sell Christmas cards in aid of Alzheimer’s Scotland.

Cramond Residence asked pupils at Cramond Primary School to design Christmas cards to be sold in the community in support of Scotland’s national dementia charity. There were 43 fantastic entries, which were all judged by the residents, and eight-year-old Arianna’s design featuring a Christmas tree, fairy lights, and the title ‘All I want for Christmas is you,’ was chosen as the winner.

The Christmas cards will be available at Cramond Residence and Cramond Kirk in exchange for a donation to the charity.

Eileen Gray, General Manager at Cramond Residence, commented: “Our residents really appreciate the intergenerational activities we do with Cramond Primary School and they took a lot of joy in looking at the card designs the pupils created. Working with the school to support such a good cause is close to the hearts of the Cramond community.

“In Scotland, more than 90,000 people have dementia. Alzheimer’s Scotland is an important charity doing great work to support those living with dementia, and we’re happy to play a small part in donating to a very worthy cause this holiday season.”
