An unexploded ordnance was found on Canty Bay in North Berwick yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 1.30pm on Saturday.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units also attended and the vicinity was cordoned off.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 1.25pm on Saturday, March 21, police were called to a report of unexploded ordnance found on the beach near North Berwick links. 

“Officers are at the scene and the area has been cordoned off as a precaution. 

“EOD are in attendance.”
