Musselburgh Racecourse has confirmed its next four race meetings have been suspended and anyone who has pre-purchased tickets will receive a full refund.

The East Lothian course had planned to stage behind-closed-doors meetings which would meet the guidelines issued by the Scottish Government that no events of more than 500 people should be held in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.

However, racing’s governing body, the British Racing Authority, today announced all horseracing in the UK from will be suspended from 18 March 2020 until the end of April 2020.

The four Musselburgh meetings impacted are Friday’s Racing Post Go North race day 20 March, Tuesday 31 March, Betway Easter Saturday Race Day 11 April and Thursday 30 April 2020.

Regular updates on the racecourse website and social media channels, will advise racegoers, owners and trainers on any material changes to scheduled race meetings.
