Hearts memorable Scottish Cup triumph over Rangers on Saturday evening was marred by the news that defender John Souttar has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
The 23-year-old centre half, who only recently returned from nine months on the sidelines, snapped his Achilles and faces another long lay-off.
It’s a bitter blow for Hearts in their fight against relegation and also for Scotland who face Israel in a Euro 2020 championship play-off later this month.
