Liberton Kirk is one of the most attractive destinations for photographers at this time of year. The ivy on the south facing wall turns a bright copper red and the church with its red doors is extremely pretty.

The building dates from the 19th century although a church has been in place on top of the hill overlooking Edinburgh since 800 AD. Designed by James Gillespie Graham, this is a rectangular semi-Gothic building with corbelled parapet tower.

On Sundays at Liberton Kirk they have two church services, one at 9.30am which is quieter and more formal and a second at 11.00am which is for all ages and a third (with refreshments from 6.30pm) at 7.00pm. They also run a club for teenagers on Monday night and clubs such as Rainbows, Anchor Boys and the Senior Citizens Club each week. Details on the church website.
