How are you going to attack your Christmas shopping this year? Are you content to fight your way around the shops, getting hot and bothered?

Or would you rather do your Christmas shopping in a Winter Wonderland set in one hundred beautiful acres of sculpture parkland, just 25 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh?

At the 2016 Fair

On 1 and 2 December 2018 Jupiter Artland will host its third Christmas Fair. There will be lots of stalls selling unique gifts and crafts to help you find that special something for all those ‘difficult’ people. And there’ll be lots more.

Free family activities will include garland and wreath-making demonstrations by Edinburgh-based florist Wild, Elf Workshops in which families can make their own tree decorations – even an Elfie-Selfie station!

Live Christmas music will jolly everyone along, Father Christmas will welcome visitors into his Grotto, you can meet Jupiter’s donkeys – and when you’ve worked up an appetite from all of that, you can snack on street food or visit the café for mulled wine, hot chocolate and other locally produced seasonal foods and drinks. Finally, on your way home you can buy your Christmas tree from Jupiter’s Tree Yard.

Jupiter Artland has been celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. At the fair you will be able to buy copies of The Generous Landscape: Ten Years of Jupiter Artland, a stunningly illustrated book tracing the history of the Foundation and the story of each of its 33 site-specific permanent works, which include sculptures by Antony Gormley, Charles Jencks, Nathan Coley, Cornelia Parker, Marc Quinn and Phyllida Barlow. So that’s a few Christmas presents solved already.

All money raised from ticket sales will go towards Jupiter Artland Foundation’s mission of engaging with every school child in Scotland. The Foundation offers free or subsidised visits for nurseries, schools, universities and community education organisations, and has welcomed over 20,000 learners since 2009.

So book your tickets now, enjoy a day away from it all, come home with Christmas (almost) sorted, and enjoy the warm glow of smugness when everyone else starts to panic.

Tickets can be booked via Jupiter Artland’s website here. They cost £8.50 (adults), £6 (concessions/students), £4.50 (children) and £2 (children 2-5 years). A family ticket for 2 adults + 2 children is £21.50.

Blue Badge holders, their carers, and all children under 2 are admitted free.

Please note there are additional charges for Santa’s Grotto and Elf Workshops, which should also be booked in advance.
