The Edinburgh Reporter is the news website for Edinburgh. We write about local news, events that are taking place here and local sport. The news is aimed at people living, working or visiting the capital of Scotland. We welcome contributions from anyone who has something to say about Edinburgh.
You can also send your own story for publication by accessing the form here.
COMMENTS are welcome in response to all of our articles, as long as these comply with our very simple guidelines.
Please do not use offensive language and please stick to the thread of the article and other comments. More detailed rules on interacting with The Edinburgh Reporter are here.
There are also classified ads which we would love you to use and which are very competitively priced.
LIVEBLOGGING is one way of covering some council meetings or to run web chats with a variety of people or organisations. All of these articles are published here.
PRESS RELEASES from any PR companies with a story to tell us and our readers about Edinburgh businesses or events happening here are welcomed. We use press releases to get as many stories as possible out to our readers, although they are always edited and checked before publication. As a PR professional you may use our What’s Your Story feature here to ensure we get your news.
PHOTOGRAPHS are essential to us so that our pages are alive with good, relevant images, and we take our own photographs or use photos from others, but only with express permission. If you have photos you think we could use then please feel free to email and we will publish with full attribution to you or indeed your business. You may also submit a photo to be included in our Reader’s Photo feature in our monthly newspaper.
We also publish our photos here on Blipfoto and Tumblr when we get a minute. Our Pinterest account is actively looking for you to pin your photos of Edinburgh there too! We have a Flickr Group here which is newly set up in May 2016.
VIDEO – We are always producing video and use it on our social media pages and in our articles.
We have a Scoop.it! magazine which you can read here.
If you would like to help us in our quest to make this site and our monthly newspaper even better then perhaps you would consider making a donation of £5 now and then by using the Donate button below? This would really help us with our overheads and printing costs!
If you think of doing this to help us run The Edinburgh Reporter then thank you:)
We also have advertising opportunities across the site and welcome enquiries about this. All of the advertising information is here.
The Edinburgh Reporter was founded, developed and is edited by Edinburgh born freelance multimedia journalist, Phyllis Stephen.
